·         Patent No. 8,865,427 is granted for the "Perifusion Device"

·         Patent No. 8,785,178 is granted for the "Perifusion Device"

·         Patent No. 8,777,084 is granted for the "Anastomosis System and Method"

·         Biorep re-news its ISO 13485:2003 certificate until 2016

 

2013

·         Patent No. 8,348,128 is granted for the "Anastomosis System and Method

 

2012

·         Biorep entered into an exclusive manufacturing agreement with Miami Instruments, LLC - a company focused on the design of innovative surgical instruments for minimally invasive cardiac surgery (MICS) procedures.  Miami Instruments products are exclusively distributed by Medtronic, Inc. (NYSE: MDT).

·         Biorep changes registrars to BSI and maintained ISO 13485:2003 certification.

·         Patent No. 8,263,389 is granted for the “Perifusion Device”

·         Biorep and the DRI are awarded a grant from the NIH for Phase II to continue the development of “A perfluorocarbon-based culture device for beta cell biology applications”

 

2011

·         Biorep becomes registered with the FDA

 

2010

·         Biorep receives ISO 13485:2003 and ISO 9001:2008 certifications.

·         Patent No. 7,655,391 is granted for the “Method for Shipping Items in an Aircraft”

·         Biorep is selected as winner for the National Instruments Graphical System Design Achievement Awards for its Perifusion System.

·         Patent No. 7,713,686 is granted for the “Organ Preservation Container and Method”

·         Biorep exhibits in the IPITA-IXA Conference in Venice, Italy.

·         Biorep Automatic Islet Counter is released

·         Biorep® Perifusion System is released

·         Biorep is awarded a grant from the NIH to develop a “A perfluorocarbon-based culture device for beta cell biology applications”

·         Biorep is awarded a “Medical Device Grant” from National Instruments

·         Biorep exhibits at the “2nd UM Innovation Showcase”

·         Ramon E. Poo is recognized as one of the 100 most notable people in the medical device industry by MD&DI

·         Biorep relocates to a new and improved facility

·         Biorep® Perfusion Apparatus is released and shipped to all CIT centers

·         Biorep attends the 5th Human Islet Isolation and Transplantation Techniques (HIITT) Workshop – Banff, Canada

 

2004

·         Patent No. 6,833,270 is granted for an “Apparatus and Method for Isolating Cells from Organs”

 

2003

·         Biorep attends the 4th Human Islet Isolation and Transplantation Techniques (HIITT) Workshop – Miami, FL

 

2002

·         Ramon E. Poo is selected as the winner of the Health Foundation of South Florida’s Concern Award for Contributions to the South Florida Community. This recognition provided a $25,000 grant to the University of Miami’s Diabetes Research Institute.

·         Biorep attends the 1st Human Islet Isolation and Transplantation Techniques (HIITT) Workshop – Miami, FL

 

1990's

·         Islet isolation and transplantation research gains support from the scientific community.

·         Biorep starts distributing equipment worldwide.

 

1980's

·         A relationship is born with the doctors at the University of Miami Diabetes Research Institute

·         Islet isolation equipment is manufactured and donated to the DRI and other leading research facilities in order to advance diabetes research

 

1970's

·         A close family member is diagnosed with diabetes and her family is referred to the University of Miami Diabetes Research Institute
